November 25, 2011

This is the first year in a long time that a) we haven’t deep fried a turkey and b) I didn’t participate in the Raking Olympics.

Instead we feasted on salmon, turkey breast, corn bread stuffing, wild rice pilaf, two kinds of cranberry sauce (none from a can), brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes (made by me and Grish!)…

… and pecan pie, apple bourbon cake and pumpkin pie.

But check out this leaf! Doesn’t it look like a turkey, wing flayed out in an unfounded attempt to take flight?

Raking Olympics! We had something like that here on Filbert St. not too long ago.

Looks like you all had a lovely Thanksgiving, glad to [read] it!

Also, my Uncle Eddie (you may have met him.. the frisbee-golf playing one who lives in FL) used to make really neat shirts/pillows/whathaveyou using the ‘cyanotype’ method. Your craft projects reminded me of him!

    Love to the fam,

“Cyanoscarf Trial II” will be tomorrow at high noon. It’s definitively a medium I’m excited to explore (and maybe you should too, since you’re the one who got me started with stenciling shirts long ago). I was thinking of trying Inkodye ( to get other colors – and maybe on a jersey scarf. And maybe even trying sun printing as most people do – with photographs on transparencies.
