We can stop holding our breath for the weather. We’ve been closely following the forecast this fall – not because we were gambling on an outdoor ceremony – but rather because we wanted to use local flowers and had to take a chance that we’d have no flowers at the wedding if we had an early frost. Every week my mom and I have been visiting the Carrboro Farmers Market and chatting up flower vendors, who all frowned and told us not to get our hopes up. This week however, they were happy to say they’d have plenty of flowers next week. Knock on wood that nothing changes!
The weather also means that Grisha’s fall lettuce will have a longer growing season! (Assuming I don’t eat it all.)
