Picking peonies a tad early so that they don’t get destroyed in the rain or the heat. Poppy looks like a bride the way he’s holding the flowers!

I spied big stalky red peonies in the Edgerton Park Community Garden plots last week. Our white ones out front haven’t bloomed yet. (I like how the ants help peel back the petals!)
The first year my mom starting growing peonies she sprayed them to keep the ants off – and of course none of them bloomed. She’s figured it out since then
